    How do plant sterols lower cholesterol?
    Plant sterols have a similar structure to cholesterol and are thought to compete with it for absorption in the gut. When the plant sterols are absorbed, this reduces the amount of cholesterol entering the blood stream. Any unabsorbed cholesterol is removed as waste, and overtime, this is thought to reduce the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in the blood. LDL is also known as ‘bad cholesterol’.

My cholesterol levels have evened out after taking one per day of these plant sterols. I have been taking them for over a year now. Whereas the level was going up every couple of years before I started them.
It’s prob just me, but my only problem with them is they are so big , I have actually choked on them a couple of times. I make sure I take them when my hubby is around now. Just in case !
