Live Bacteria
The term live bacteria refer to 'friendly' bacteria which colonise the digestive tract. 'Friendly' because they work in many useful ways. They can reduce the build up of wind, boost the immune system, prevent harmful bacteria from taking hold (helping to prevent infections) and help us to absorb nutrients from our diet. A proper balance between the beneficial bacteria and harmful bacteria must be kept to maintain a healthy, regular digestive system.

Unfortunately this balance is easily disrupted by stress, travel, illness, changes in diet and antibiotics. 'Live' supplements of acidophilus and bifidus bacteria can help combat these changes and, while bio-yoghurts contain live bacteria, it is not always possible to know what they strains are nor how much they contain. They also need to be taken on a daily basis, which is not always possible for people with busy lifestyles. Nature's Best has 2 convenient easy to take products with the specific strains Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-5 and Bifido-bacterium bifidum BB12 (the most popular strains used in clinical trials).
Bacteria are easily destroyed, so Nature's Best have enhanced the stability of the bacteria by freeze drying them with an acid stable matrix that helps to protect them from stomach acid by up to 50 times. In a recent independent study our product was one of the few that lived up to its label claim.
