Manganese
Manganese is a neglected trace element, whose importance in the health of connective tissue such as our spinal discs and other cartilages and whose involvement in brain and nervous system and in glucose management has not been fully appreciated. It is necessary for the function of many enzymes.A very low percentage of manganese is absorbed from dietary sources, while around 4mg a day is excreted. Â High intake of refined and processed food reduces available manganese.
