What is Tongkat Ali?
Tongkat Ali, also known as Eurycoma Longifolia, longjack and Malaysian Ginseng is a herb and has been used in Southeast Asian medicine for centuries. The roots of the shrub are considered to contain the ‘active’ compounds of the plant. These compounds contain flavonoids and antioxidants.
What is Tongkat Ali commonly used for?
Tongkat Ali is most often used in connection with men’s health.
Why don’t we sell Tongkat Ali?
There are very few studies of Tongkat Ali in humans, so there is insufficient data to support any health claims. The research that has been conducted is inconclusive in terms of long-term intake and safety. If you are considering taking this herb, we recommend consulting your healthcare practitioner prior to administration.
What are the alternatives?
Our expert Nutrition Advisors suggest Korean Ginseng and/or Zinc as commendable alternatives to Tongkat Ali since there is decisive evidence to support their health claims.
Korean Ginseng: Also known as Panax Ginseng or Asian Ginseng continues to be one of the most popular supplementary herbs to maintain energy and both physical and mental wellbeing.
Zing 15mg: Zinc is also particularly important in supporting men's health - it contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood and contributes to normal fertility and reproduction.
