We are making small to our glucosamine range. This follows a review into the classification of glucosamine products, by The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
As part of this review the MHRA have confirmed that glucosamine products containing doses equal or greater than 1178mg/day of base (available) glucosamine will now be classified as medicines, for which a licence is required.
We are pleased to announce we will continue to offer customers glucosamine products that are classified as food supplements. We have made some small adjustments to our range to comply. We took advice from the Health Food Manufacturers Association (HFMA) and have chosen to follow their recommendation of 1100mg of glucosamine base daily.
You can see from the table below how each product in our range has been affected. In all cases, with the exception of our liquid glucosamine, the daily dose remains unchanged.
