Ingredients
Cinnamon sticks
Whole cloves
Star anise
Nutmeg
All spice
Orange peel
Berries, Cherries and Raisins
Almonds
Brandy
Method
Sterilise a large Kilner jar.
Cut a 10cm x 10cm square of muslin and put broken cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, star anise, freshly grated nutmeg and some all spice into the centre.
Bring all the sides of the muslin together and tie with a strip of muslin to create a bag.
Put the spice bag into the jar along with large strips of orange peel (use one whole orange).
Add Berries, Cherries and Raisins to the jar and some Nature’s Best almonds (chopped).
Add brandy to the top of the jar and leave to macerate until the fruit is plump and the flavours steeped.
Add to spiced wine, cakes, ice cream or even on the Christmas pudding!
