Sage
Sage is a kitchen herb that has been used by herbalists for centuries for a number of conditions. Â Centuries ago sage was very highly regarded and its botanical name
Salvia also suggests its importance. Â It comes from the latin name
Salvare, to save.
Like rosemary, its sister herb in the mint family, sage contains a variety of volatile oils, flavonoids, and phenolic acids, including the phenolic acid named after rosemary—rosmarinic acid (the ‘active’ compound in sage).
We offer one of the UK strongest one-a-day sage products, as well as a specialist ginkgo formula for memory, which includes a blend of sage and other herbs to encourage short term memory.
