Antioxidants
The body produces large quantities of its own antioxidants – compounds that neutralise highly reactive compounds called ‘free radicals’. These are formed as a by-product of metabolism, and when we train hard, the number of free radicals created is greatly increased.
If the body can’t neutralise these immediately, they can damage cells, tissues, and delay recovery. So, it’s important to keep the body’s antioxidant reserves well-stocked to ensure this doesn’t happen.
Our supplement range includes antioxidants in their purest form, such as vitamin C and E, and those the body uses to make its own antioxidants – selenium for instance. Our product selection also features antioxidants in the form of phytochemicals, like quercetin and other flavonoids, which our diets may contain low levels of.
