- Product Information
Packed with protein, fibre, and healthy fats, flax seeds, or brown linseeds, are tiny nutritional powerhouses. These little seeds are easy to work into your daily diet: add to soups, salads, porridge, smoothies, or yoghurt. They’re also a great addition to vegan baking; a combination of water and ground flax can be used to replace eggs.
For plant-based diets, flax seeds offer a tremendously valuable source of omega 3 fats, specifically ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), which is known to support many areas of wellness, including women’s health. To find out more click here.
Perhaps the most notable characteristic of flax seeds is their fibre content. Both soluble (digestible) and insoluble (non-digestible) fibre make up their nutritional profile. This pronged fibre delivery system ferments in the digestive tract, aiding regular bowel movements and feeding your gut microbiome. Just one tablespoon supplies 3g of fibre, approximately 8-12% of the recommended daily intake (30%).
Flax seeds also contain powerful plant compounds called lignans, which are known to have oestrogen-like properties, making them a popular choice for menopausal women. Read more here.

Tried this because Michael Moseley recommended it. Added it to my usual kefir and rolled oats breakfast - but it tastes disgusting. Furthermore, grinding it up before adding to breakfast, as recommended by the good doctor left an appalling smell in the grinder which took days and multiple washing and soaking cycles to eliminate. However, at least I gave it a whirl - so now I know
