Sage
Sage is a kitchen herb that has been used by herbalists for centuries for a number of conditions. Centuries ago sage was very highly regarded and its botanical name
Salvia also suggests its importance. It comes from the latin name
Salvare, to save.
Like rosemary, its sister herb in the mint family, sage contains a variety of volatile oils, flavonoids, and phenolic acids, including the phenolic acid named after rosemary—rosmarinic acid (the ‘active’ compound in sage).
We offer one of the UK strongest one-a-day sage products, as well as a specialist ginkgo formula for memory, which includes a blend of sage and other herbs to encourage short term memory.
